Songwriting 101 (Paul Mowbray) |
| |
|
An overview of what makes a good song and what skills the
songwriter needs to write well. This is presented with a framework which
helps you assess how best to move forward as a songwriter. I call the
framework the songwriter's toolbox: chords, melody, lyric, and rhythm
grooves.
Toolbox writing skills are looked at in detail at the
sessions. A specific song is studied briefly each session using the
toolbox framework. Feedback and group discussions or
exercises and assignments form an integral part of each session.
Opportunities for performing and recording workshop songs songs are
provided. |
